Pictured on the left is Kyle Franseen of Boyceville High School, and Kayla DesCamps of Menomonie High School is on the right; both were presented the Youth Service Award from the Rotary Club of Menomonie. This award is presented quarterly to outstanding students in the area who exemplify Rotary’s Motto “Service Above Self.” Other criteria for the award are based on the nature of the volunteer service; what did the student learn from the service experience, and how did the recipient benefit from the volunteer service provided.

Kyle, ranked second in his graduating class, has maintained a 4.0+ grade average while taking every science and honors classes available. He’s a three sport letter winner, a student leader, and volunteer.

Kayla was introduced to volunteering by her parents. She’s been involved in several mission trips; locally she’s engaged in the Christmas for Kids Program, the Thanksgiving dinner at Olde Towne, and the High School Key Club.
